All-New Mazda CX-9 Crossover to Debut at Los Angeles Motor Show
Kuala Lumpur: Mazda is all set to unveil its new CX-9 seven-seater crossover at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. Ahead of its launch, a teaser image has been rendered by the automaker which gives us an idea about what to expect. The nine-year-old CX-9 has undergone a lot of updates along the way and now features a new design. This three-row crossover has a clear resemblance to Mazda's Koeru concept and also wears Mazda's very own Kodo design language. Moreover, the Japanese automaker said in a statement that this car would feature “a more premium design execution that befits a three-row mid-size crossover SUV “. towards the front fascia it would feature a sharper end along with a sleeker profile. Although some details will be changed once it is rolled out including some aspects like the wheel size and wing mirrors.

Although nothing much has been revealed about it technical details but Mazda claims that it would be blessed by the latest SkyActiv technologies. Previously it was powered by Ford's 3.7-litre Cyclone V6 petrol engine in favour of Mazda 6 underpinnings and high-compression, direct injected SkyActiv-G four-cylinder engine. The new mills consist of a 2.0-litre engine which churns out a maximum power of 153 hp along with a peak torque of 200 Nm and a 2.5-litre engine which delivers a maximum power of 185 hp along with a peak torque of 250 Nm. These engines, currently seen on the Mazda 6 lags behind when compared to the 273 hp and 366 Nm engine currently fitted in outgoing CX-9.
