All-new Mazda CX-60 introduced in Australia; check details
KUALA LUMPUR: Mazda first unveiled the new CX-60 in March this year, followed by an early April launch of the SUV in Japan. Now, the next country on the new Mazda’s receiving end is Australia where the car was recently revealed. Scheduled for an early arrival next year, the Australian-spec CX-60 details are now out with pricing yet to be announced.

Variants
Once launched, Mazda Australia will offer the new CX-60 in three variant options namely, Evolve, GT, and Azami.
Engine
In Australia, Mazda will offer the CX-60 in three engine options. The list includes -
- A plug-in hybrid powertrain including a Skyactiv-G 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated 4-Cyl petrol mill making 192 PS and 261 Nm of torque and a 136 PS/250 Nm e-motor. The total system output comes to 327 PS and 500 Nm
- An e-Skyactiv D 3.3-litre straight-six turbo diesel with Mazda’s M Hybrid Boost 48V mild hybrid system with an electric motor. The unit generates a max power of 254 PS along with a peak torque of 550 Nm
- A mild hybrid straight-six e-Skyactiv G 3.3-litre turbo petrol unit pumping 284 PS and 450 Nm of torque
The electric motor is powered by a 17.8 kWh lithium battery positioned under the car's floor. It offers an electric-only range of 60 km and can be charged through an AC input. A full charge would take 2 hrs 20 mins in total.
Drivetrain
All three Mazda CX0-60 powertrains will be offered with a rear-biased i-Activ all-wheel drive system along with 8-speed automatic transmission. The latter uses a multi-plate clutch instead of a torque converter.

The 2023 Mazda CX-60 will be offered with pretty solid and versatile standard fittings including -
