All-new 2024 Honda CR-V bookings open in Malaysia; launch next month

KUALA LUMPUR: After a long wait, the all-new sixth-generation Honda CR-V is set to make its way to Malaysia. Yes, that's right! Honda Cars Malaysia has started accepting bookings for the upgraded SUV globally introduced in July 2022. The launch of the new Honda CR-V is scheduled to be held next month.

Locally assembled at the brand’s Melaka facility, the new CR-V is offered with two engine options - petrol and hybrid. The former is a 1.5-litre turbocharged VTEC mill producing a maximum power of 192 PS and a peak torque of 240 Nm. It is mated to Honda's Real Time AWD system.

The hybrid unit, on the other hand, comprises a 2.0-litre dual motor i-MMD petrol-electric setup cranking out 184 PS and 335 Nm. 

Honda has unveiled the images of the flagship RS trim, which is kitted with the RS-specific front grille featuring a bold mesh pattern and an Active Shutter grille on the lower bumper that helps in aerodynamics. Also part of the kit are full LED headlights and tail lights, front LED sequential turn signals, LED front fog lights, and Berlina Black 18-inch alloys.

The new CR-V will be equipped with the updated Honda Sensing system, which includes a wide-angle radar, camera, and sonar sensors. The ADAS suite now offers a total of nine safety systems with the addition of the Adaptive Driving Beam. The SUV will also come with a 12-speaker Bose audio system, Honda Connect telematics, and a hands-free power tailgate with a walkaway close feature.
