The 2023 Everest touts water wading capabilities of up to 800 mm with its roof capable of holding static loads of 350 kg and dynamic loads as heavy as 100 kg.The new Everest will go on sale later this year and will be offered in three variant options - base Sport, mid-spec Titanium+, and new flagship grade called Platinum. Ford will be offering a range of trims and models based on these three grades.
Based on the 2022 Ranger, Ford’s latest three-row family hauler gets the same novelties as the automaker’s midsize truck. It gets wider tracks that call for better on-road stability and revised dampers for improved off-road capabilities.
In terms of styling, the 2023 Everest gets styling clues from its Ranger cousin. While the front fascia is nearly identical, the switch from a pickup to SUV body-type has called in for longer rear doors, wider tail lights, and a wide bar on the tailgate incorporating ‘EVEREST’ lettering.
It is the cabin that showcases massive changes. The new Everest benefits from the SYNC 4 infotainment system, 10.1-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen (on lesser trim levels), a 12-inch diagonal display (on higher trim levels), and 8- and 12.3-inch instrument cluster (depending on the version).
As for the engine specifications, on top of the line sits a 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel engine. The revamped Everest will also be offered with a smaller 2.0-litre diesel unit with one or two turbochargers, depending on the market. In case oil-burners are not your thing, Ford is also offering the new Everest with the familiar 2.3-litre EcoBoost petrol engine.
Depending on the engine, Ford’s body-on-frame SUV will either come with a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission.
What else?
Ford has some room in the new Everest’s engine bay for a second battery that will juice up various aftermarket accessories and accentuate the SUV’s outdoorsy character.
Speaking of outdoorsiness, the 2023 Everest touts water wading capabilities of up to 800 mm with its roof capable of holding static loads of 350 kg and dynamic loads as heavy as 100 kg.
On the advanced tech front, the SUV gets a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, matrix LED headlights, lane-keeping assist, and more functions. On the safety side, it gets advanced features like automatic evasive steer assist and post-collision braking.
