All-new 2022 Honda BR-V launched in Indonesia, full details revealed
It was six years ago that Honda introduced the BR-V and now after much wait, the automaker has finally launched the second-gen model. Based on the N7X Concept, the car showcases improvements in the design, comfort, and safety departments.
2022 Honda BR-V: Exterior styling
Compared to the previous-gen model, the new BR-V seems a bit larger, Honda is yet to share detailed spec info. Key highlights on the exterior include -
- A large slatted grille topped by the signature "Solid Wing Face" chrome bar
- Slim headlights with reflector LED tech & inverted L-shaped DRLs
- Downturned centre air intake
- Silver skid plate
- Fog lights housed in an L-shaped frame
- Trapezoidal tail lights
- Horizontal reflectors in black plastic body cladding
- 17-inch alloys
2022 Honda BR-V: Cabin updates
The interior of the new BR-V seems to be inspired by the latest CR-V. For instance, the stitched passenger-side panel and high-mounted centre air vent pad particularly point in that direction. Other inclusions being -
- A large gloss black display lower down
- Double DIN touchscreen head unit
- 7-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto support
- Remote engine start
- Passenger-side illuminated vanity mirror
- Walk-away auto-lock
- 1st & 2nd-row armrest
- 1st, 2nd, & 3rd-row power socket
2022 Honda BR-V: Engine
Powering the all-new BR-V is a 1.5-litre i-VTEC 4-CYL mill with double overhead cams. Paired either to a 6-speed manual or the new CVT unit, the mill pumps out a maximum power of 121 PS at 6,600 rpm along with a peak torque of 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm.
2022 Honda BR-V: Safety kit
The new BR-V benefits from a highly revised and improved safety kit that includes the full range of the Honda Sensing driver assistance systems. Though limited to the range-topping Prestige variant, it includes gears like - camera-based system that incorporates autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, front departure alert, lane centring assist, adaptive cruise control, road departure mitigation, and automatic high beam. As standard are available 6-airbags.
