All-new 2021 Geely Binyue Pro facelift unveiled in China
KUALA LUMPUR: Geely Bin Yue, the Chinese cousin of Proton X50 has been given a facelift. The SUV benefits from revision both on the inside and outside. So, let’s see what all changes the new Binyue brings to the table, starting with the exterior.
As can be seen from the images, the car looks more aggressive than before, thanks to the new honeycomb mesh grille and prominent grey fitting beneath it. A closer look will reveal the grey portion forming the ‘X’ design across the front
The headlamp design is the same as before, but it now gets the welcome sequence that lights up when the car is unlocked. The front lower lip extension that earlier featured a dual-layer look is modified into a single layer.
Other visual changes include -
- A set of 215/55 tyres with 18-inch machined-finish wheels
- Reworked rear spoiler with carbon-fibre finish
- Body-coloured design trim on the front splitter and side skirts
- Black racing stripe on the bonnet
- Black roof finish
Furthermore, the sportier variant in yellow exterior tone showcases a trio of body-colour stripes. The more prominent diffuser arrangement is seen on the redesigned rear bumper along with a horizontal body-coloured stripe running through the midsection.
Also, on offer are blue and white metallic exterior hues that get white and red contrasting strips, respectively. The tailgate is joined by a carbon fibre-look tailgate spoiler with ‘S’ motif in body-colour on the end plate.
On the inside, the Binyue Pro facelift seems to retain the layout of the previous model. A few noticeable changes include - a larger, 12.3-inch infotainment display, two-tone (black and body-colour) upholstery, multi-function leather steering wheel, new gear selector lever, and a full-length panoramic sunroof.
Furthermore, as per Autohome.cn, the Binyue Pro facelift gets matte-metal-look finish interior trim, ambient lighting offered in 72 colours with several light animation modes.
What about the new model’s engine configuration? Well, for the moment we only have these images and no specifications. The facelift might get the same power plant units as the ongoing Binyue, that’s a 141 PS/235Nm 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine and a 177 PS/255 Nm 1.5-litre 3-CYL turbo petrol mill.
Also, there is no mention of the price, however, a few reports say its sale will commence in China sometime in August.
