All-new 2021 DS 4 introduced, here's its full details

Before we start discussing the new premium hatch, the DS 4 specs and other details, let's first know its background a little bit. DS is Citroen's premium sub-brand that is known to make stunning vehicles. The DS 4 was formerly known as the Citroen DS4, however it was discontinued in mid-2018. Now after three years, we get to see the second-gen model that looks inspired by the Aero Sport Lounge concept that was revealed by the company last year.

The car's side profile features a muscular look thanks to the shoulder line that splits in two above the front and rear wheel. Adding to the look is the hockey-stick like swage line down below. For wheels, DS 4 comes in two options - 19- and 20-inch, both with a narrow width and flush inserts. These units not only enhance the car's aerodynamic efficiency but are also 10 percent lighter than the conventional alloys, meaning a 1.5 kg weight reduction in each corner.

The interior is as extravagant and stunning as the exterior. At a glance, the cabin seems to be wrapped around the front passenger. The new DS 4 is offered in two zones - contact and interactive, that demarcate the position of the display. The window switches are colour coded for the convenience of the driver to distinguish between left and right.

High emphasis is paid on the upholstery with usage of premium materials like Nappa leather, open-pore ash wood, watch strap-esque seat cover, and Clous de Paris guilloche patterns.

The shell-like seat comes with ventilation and massage functions and the high-density foam ensures maximum comfort. The hatch offers a generous boot space of 430-litres and the tailgate now comes with a hands-free powered function.

The new DS 4 is offered in several petrol and diesel engine options. The former includes - 130 hp, 180 hp, and 225 hp PureTech units and the later a 130 hp BlueHDi mill. Also on offer is a E-Tense PHEV model that paires a 180 hp petrol mill and 110 hp electric motor, the total system output sits at 225 hp. The DS 4 hybrid model offers an all-electric range of 50 km. An 8-speed automatic gearbox remains common across the 2021 DS 4 lineup.

The new DS 4 comes tuned with the brand's Driver Assist 2.0 semi-autonomous driving system that includes traffic sign recognition, semi-autonomous overtaking, and corner speed reduction.
