Ahead of Malaysia, Zeekr X electric SUV lands in Singapore

KUALA LUMPUR: After Thailand, Singapore becomes the next Southeast Asian market to receive the Zeekr X electric SUV. The Zeekr X is the brand’s first electric car in the tropical city, soon to be joined by the Zeekr 009.

The Zeekr X is offered in two variants in Singapore - Standard RWD and Flagship AWD, priced at SGD 199,999 (approx. RM 665k) and SGD 214,999 (approx. RM 715k). 

The EV is based on the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) and offers “an unrivalled balance of design, technology, driving dynamics, performance and safety, together with an enviable range and fast charging.”

The Singapore-spec Zeekr X comes in two drivetrain options - the Standard RWD trim is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing a maximum power of 272 PS and a peak torque of 343 Nm. The Flagship AWD, on the contrary, incorporates two electric motors capable of generating a total power of 428 PS and a maximum torque of 543 Nm.

Performance-wise, the Standard RWD runs from zero to 100 kmph in 5.6 seconds while the  Flagship AWD completes the same task in 3.8 seconds. The top speed remains the same at 190 kmph in both configurations.  

In terms of battery setup, both variants are equipped with a 66 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) unit. However, the range is 440 km for the Standard trim and 420 km for the Flagship trim. Supporting both AC and DC charging, the battery charges at a maximum of 22 kW via AC and up to 158 kW via DC. The latter can juice up the battery from 10% to 80% in 29 minutes only.

Depending on the variant selected, the Zeekr X comes kitted with the following features -

• Wireless charging pad and.

• 13-speaker Yamaha sound system
• Advanced driver-assistance systems
• 360-degree camera 

Another key highlight of the Zeekr X is its range of convenience modes when parked. These include - 

• Theatre Mode, which adjusts the seats for better music enjoyment
• Pet Mode, which maintains a comfortable cabin temperature for pets 
• Sentry Mode, which records video around the vehicle when parked and locked, if it detects suspicious activity. Only the driver can access these recordings.
