A ‘Healing’ day out with the Proton X90: A day adventure to Bentong

KUALA LUMPUR:  When the invitation from Proton landed in my inbox, excitement surged through me, as it broke the monotony of everyday life. Proton had organized an exclusive media drive to Bentong, a picturesque town nestled in the tranquil foothills of Pahang. This trip was more than just a test drive; it was a thoughtfully crafted experience aimed at showcasing the Proton X90, their flagship SUV.

The Proton X90 has already made waves in Malaysia’s automotive world with its impressive array of features. As a journalist, I had previously reviewed the Proton X90, noting its standout attributes like advanced safety features, spacious interior, and decent performance. So we were intrigued to what this media trip involving the Proton X90 was all about and had hoped that Proton would showcase something new and unexpected. Upon arriving in Bentong, we were welcomed by the town's lush greenery and tranquil atmosphere. Our destination was the scenic Bentong Happy Farm, selected to demonstrate the X90's versatility beyond urban and highway driving. Proton had arranged a special surprise to highlight the SUV's capability as the perfect companion for outdoor adventures.

As we parked our X90s somewhere in the 50 acre land, the setting sun bathed the surroundings in a golden glow. As we gathered around to inspect the setup, Proton's representatives explained how this accessory could enhance the camping experience. The X90's large windows would allow campers to enjoy the beauty of nature from the comfort of their makeshift bedroom. Even on the twisty roads of Karak, the X90's exceptional ride and handling allowed me, as a passenger this time, to drift off to sleep—an attribute that its competitors struggle to match.

Reflecting on the adventure, it was clear that the Proton X90 had exceeded our expectations once again. The addition of the inflatable mattress and awning showcased the SUV's versatility, making it an ideal choice for both urban and outdoor lifestyles. The trip to Bentong had not only refreshed our minds about the X90's capabilities but also highlighted Proton's commitment to providing what customers want.
