Let’s know the new Mitsubishi SUV in detail -

    Exterior

Built on Mitsubishi’s new mid-size SUV platform, the DST Concept features a “Gravitas & Dynamism” design language. Its large-diameter tyres and high ground clearance offer a high level of maneuverability.

The front boasts the brand’s signature Dynamic Shield design with a three-dimensional honeycomb grille, covered by a clear outer layer. It is integrated with sturdy bumpers, giving the SUV a modern and premium appearance.

The T-shaped LED daytime running lights and tail lights highlight the vehicle’s broad stance. Other key exterior highlights include - front and rear fender flares, side protectors, and large skid plates at both front and rear ends.

    Interior

The cabin looks spacious and elegant, thanks to its thoughtfully designed layout and soft, premium materials. It features a full LCD driver screen, a striking infotainment display, and a panoramic sunroof. The automaker has not shared further details.

    Engine and performance

Although Mitsubishi has not revealed the powertrain details, the upcoming DST SUV is expected to borrow the 1.5-litre engine from the Xpander and Xforce models. The said mill generates a maximum power of 105 hp and a peak torque of 141 Nm and comes mated to a front-wheel-drive setup.

    Handling

The SUV can tackle rough roads with its high ground clearance and five drive modes. These include - Wet mode for rainy, flooded roads, Tarmac mode for smooth, winding roads, along with Normal, Gravel, and Mud modes. It can tackle any weather or terrain, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey for all passengers, claims Mitsubishi.

“The Mitsubishi DST Concept is an embodiment of an all-new three-row SUV to be launched during our current mid-term business plan Challenge 2025, and the production vehicle will be rolled out primarily in the ASEAN region including the Philippines starting in fiscal year 2025,” said Takao Kato, president and chief executive officer, Mitsubishi Motors.

“The all-new SUV will follow in the footsteps of the Xpander crossover MPV that was born in the ASEAN region and grew to become a model beloved by customers around the world, and the Xforce compact SUV that has been highly acclaimed since its introduction in fiscal 2023. With the aim of making it a global strategic vehicle, we will further develop it as a distinctively Mitsubishi SUV that expands our customers’ range of mobility.”

Overall, the upcoming Mitsubishi DST Concept combines style, space, and versatility, making it an ideal choice for families looking for comfort on every trip.
