7-seater GAC M8 arrives in the Philippines; price begins at RM 255k

KUALA LUMPUR: In Malaysia, GAC Motor has been steadily making its mark, and this year, it is set to introduce three new SUVs - GS3 Emzoom, Emkoo, and Aion Y Plus. However, if we talk about the Philippines, the Chinese automaker has a strong presence in the country, with the GS3 Emzoom and Emkoo SUVs already available for sale. To further solidify its presence, GAC Motors Philippines has now added a new MPV, the M8, to its lineup.

The GAC M8 is a seven-seater premium MPV, which is offered in two variants - 2.0L M8 GL Master and 2.0L M8 GX Master, priced at P2.998 million (approx RM 255k) and P3.948 million (approx RM 337k) respectively.

The key highlights of the GAC M8 are as follows - 

• The MPV measures 5,212 mm in length, 1,893 mm in width, and 1,823 mm in height, and spans a wheelbase of 3,070 mm
• With a design inspired by the Oriental Lion, the M8 boasts sleek lines, a huge chrome grille, and sharp LED headlamps mated to adaptive driving beam technology
• Adorning the side profile are chrome accents and 18-inch Master-specific wheels wrapped in 255/55 tyres

• The rear end features connected tail lamps and a stylish spoiler, adding to the vehicle's aerodynamic profile and overall modern design
• The cabin has a 2-2-3 seating layout with a 12-way power-adjustable driver seat and a 4-way power-adjustable front passenger seat. Both seats also feature ventilation and heating function

• The equipment kit includes - a 14.6-inch infotainment unit supporting Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, a 12.3-inch LCD instrument panel, eight speakers, three-zone auto air-conditioning, multi-color intelligent ambient lighting, a panoramic roof, a wireless charging pad, a rearview camera, and electronic parking brake with auto brake hold

• As for safety, it features several active and passive systems, including adaptive cruise control with the intelligent speed limit, autonomous emergency braking, automatic parking assist, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, traffic jam assist, blind spot detection, and more
• The GAC M8 is powered by a a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine tuned to generate a maximum power of 248 hp and a peak torque of 400 Nm 
• The engine comes paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission
