2025 Tesla Model Y facelift launched in Malaysia; here’s all you need to know

KUALA LUMPUR: Just a month after its global reveal, the all-new Tesla Model Y has landed on Malaysian soil. Internally codenamed as the Project Juniper, the new Model Y is available in two variants locally- Rear-Wheel Drive and Long Range All-Wheel Drive. The prices are as follows -

2025 Tesla Model Y: Exterior

The EV benefits from an enhanced exterior design inspired by the Cybertruck and Cybercab. The key changes include -

• Full-width light bar with slimmer, repositioned headlights
• New Front Camera placed in the air intake
• First-ever "indirect taillight" illuminating a silver strip and Tesla script
• Reworked rear diffuser with the number plate moved lower
• Updated tailgate that now features two pieces
• Newly designed 19-inch Crossflow alloy wheels (20-inch Helix 2.0 units at an additional amount of RM 10,000)

Tesla offers the Model Y in five striking colour options, which customers can choose by paying an additional amount.

2025 Tesla Model Y: Interior

The all-new Tesla Model Y facelift features the same minimalist interior design as earlier. Taking centre stage at the dashboard is the familiar 15.4-inch infotainment unit, which controls various functions, including media, navigation, climate control, camera displays, etc.

• 8-inch display on the center console for rear passengers
• Customisable ambient lighting
• Ventilated Seats
• Conventional indicator stalk that replaces controversial button controls
• Double-Glazed Acoustic Glass for quieter cabin experience

• Powered rear seat recline – Fold/unfold electrically via boot buttons

2025 Tesla Model Y: Launch Series 

Notably, both variants of the 2025 Tesla Model Y are currently available in a limited-release “Launch Series, ” which confirms their distinctive identity with a rear liftgate badge, Launch Series branding, a puddle lamp logo, and vegan suede material.

2025 Tesla Model Y: Warranty 

On the purchase of the new Model Y, Tesla Malaysia offers the following warranty package

• Basic Vehicle Warranty – 4 years / 80,000 km.
• Supplemental Restraint System Warranty – 5 years / 100,000 km.
• Battery & Drive Unit Warranty: 8 years / 160,000 km (RWD) and 8 years / 192,000 km (AWD)
• Battery Retention Guarantee – Minimum 70% capacity over the warranty period.
