It introduces a T-Hybrid system — Porsche’s first hybrid setup for the 911. It combines a new 3.6L flat-six engine with two electric motors, delivering a total of 541 PS and 610 Nm, with only a 50 kg weight gain over the outgoing model. When and where can I see the new 911 Carrera in person?
The 911 Carrera will be on public display at The Exchange TRX Mall in Kuala Lumpur from April 11 to 13, 2025, as part of Porsche Malaysia’s 15th anniversary showcase.Making their local debut are the base 911 Carrera and the more powerful 911 Carrera 4 GTS, priced from RM1,430,000 and RM1,890,000 respectively.

Both models are now open for booking. In conjunction with SDAP’s 15th anniversary, the new 911 Carrera will also be on public display at The Exchange TRX Mall from April 11 to 13, 2025.
The 911 Carrera 4 GTS may not be part of the TRX Mall display, but it’s without question the highlight of the launch — being the first-ever 911 GTS to feature a hybrid powertrain.
For now, all official images focus on the base 911 Carrera, which still commands attention in its own right.

Dubbed the T-Hybrid, it’s a lightweight system developed with insights from Porsche’s motorsport efforts. The system incorporates a brand-new electric exhaust gas turbocharger, where an electric motor spools up the turbo almost instantly, cutting lag and generating up to 11 kW (15 PS) of electricity from exhaust gases.
A second electric motor, embedded in the new eight-speed PDK transmission, delivers 40 kW of extra power and 150 Nm of torque, even when idling. Both motors are linked to a compact 400V high-voltage battery with 1.9 kWh capacity, about the size of a traditional 12V starter battery.

This supports a completely reworked 3.6-litre flat-six engine. Displacement is up by 0.6 litres over the previous version, and it now pushes 485 PS and 570 Nm on its own.
Combined with the hybrid system, total output stands at 541 PS and 610 Nm — 61 PS more than its predecessor. Porsche claims a minimal 50 kg weight gain over the outgoing GTS, despite the added hybrid components.

Carrera gets upgrades too
As for the base 911 Carrera, it retains the familiar 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six layout, but gains some serious upgrades. The turbochargers are now shared with the outgoing GTS, and the intercooler has been borrowed from the 911 Turbo models.
These changes bump output to 394 PS and 450 Nm, helping the coupe hit 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds (or 3.9 seconds with the Sport Chrono pack) and max out at 294 km/h.
Suspension, wheels, and aerodynamics
The GTS variant also receives updated underpinnings, including rear-axle steering as standard. This not only tightens the turning radius but enhances stability at high speeds. PASM adaptive dampers and a ride height lowered by 10 mm round out the package.
Porsche is offering up to seven wheel designs, including a new aero-optimised carbon blade set. Standard on the GTS are staggered 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels, paired with wider tyres to aid grip and handling.

On the outside, both cars benefit from aerodynamic improvements. Matrix LED headlights are now standard, integrating all lighting functions and making room for larger front air intakes.
The GTS version gets a more aggressive front fascia with five visible active air flaps, adaptive underbody diffusers, and model-specific bumpers. Around the back, there’s a refreshed light bar with a new arc-shaped graphic and updated rear grille design.
A sports exhaust system comes standard on the GTS and is optional for the Carrera.
Optional aero kit
For those who want even more downforce, Porsche is offering an Aero Kit option. It includes a more pronounced SportDesign front bumper, unique side skirts, and a fixed rear wing — all aimed at improving high-speed stability and grip.

Digital cockpit and Improved tech
Inside, the latest 911 lineup features a fully digital 12.6-inch instrument cluster for the first time, supporting up to seven different display modes, including a retro-style layout with a central tachometer.
The 10.9-inch central infotainment screen remains, but now supports deeper Apple CarPlay integration, including display of vehicle functions and Siri voice control.
Native apps such as Spotify and Apple Music are now supported without needing to connect a phone. There’s even video streaming capability when the car is parked.

Other updates include a redesigned steering layout with a dedicated drive mode switch, an onboard smartphone cooler with wireless charging, and a start button on the left — just as it should be in a 911.
The base 911 Carrera is available only as a rear-wheel-drive coupé, while the Carrera 4 GTS comes with all-wheel drive as standard. Both are paired with Porsche’s dual-clutch PDK transmission.
