2025 Kia Sportage bookings now open in Malaysia, est price announced

KUALA LUMPUR:  After a long wait, Kia is finally ready to bring the Sportage back to our shores. Dinamikjaya Motors, the official distributor of the South Korean car brand, has started accepting bookings for the SUV ahead of the launch slated to be held at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2024.

The upcoming Kia Sportage is a C-segment SUV that rivals the Proton X70, Honda CR-V, and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro. Currently in its fifth generation, the Sportage will be offered as a CKD model, locally assembled at the automaker’s Inokom plant in Kulim, Kedah. 

2025 Kia Sportage price

The estimated price of the 2025 Kia Sportage begins at RM 150,000. It will include a five-year, 100,000-km warranty and service package.

2025 Kia Sportage engine specifications

The automaker has confirmed that the Sportage will be offered in two drivetrains in Malaysia - 

• A 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated inline-four cylinder mill that churns out a maximum power of 156 hp and a peak torque of 192. It is paired with a 6-speed AT.
• A 1.6-litre turbocharged inline-four unit tuned to deliver 177 hp and 265 Nm, mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox.

2025 Kia Sportage dimensions and design

The fifth-gen Sportage measures 4,440 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height. It spans a wheelbase of 2,640 mm and offers ample space for passengers and cargo.

The SUV underpins Kia’s latest Opposites United design philosophy with a “Tiger Nose” grille and “boomerang-shaped” LED daytime running lights. Adding to the vehicle’s eye-catching appearance is an aerodynamic silhouette, sharp LED headlights, and distinctive rear lighting.

The avant-garde cabin of the SUV features high-quality materials, a driver-centric layout, ergonomic seating, and advanced connectivity features, making it a luxurious yet functional space.
