2025 Isuzu MU-X makes official debut in Thailand
KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new Isuzu MU-X, teased earlier this month, has finally made its official debut in Thailand. The upgraded seven-seater SUV features several significant visual and tech upgrades, including a new RS variant.

The Isuzu MU-X competes against the Ford Everest, Toyota Fortuner, and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.Starting with the exterior, the new MU-X features a bolder face with a completely different grille bracketed by new Dynamic-Blade headlights. The front bumper houses a new air curtain designed to optimise aerodynamics and improve cooling efficiency.
Towards the rear, we can find a new set of tail lights along with a new full-width trim across the boot lid and a smaller Isuzu badge. Also part of the update is new 20-inch turbine-inspired aluminium wheels wrapped with 265/50R20 tyres.
The 2025 Isuzu MU-X measures 4,860 mm in length, 1,885 mm in width, and 1,875 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 2,855 mm. The minimum turning radius is 5.6 m.
Getting inside, here the seven-seater Isuzu SUV boasts a new “Bold and Dynamic” design concept with the redesigned dashboard, seats, and door trims. It gains an updated 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen as a standard fitment. In addition to wireless Apple CarPlay functionality, it now also supports wireless Android Auto.
In high-end variants, the 4.2-inch central display is also replaced by a bigger 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster. The latter also benefits from new ‘Truffle Brown’ leather upholstery.
In terms of safety, Isuzu introduces new and improved advanced features, utilising the next-generation stereo camera. It now comes equipped with lane-keep assist, traffic jam assist, and emergency lane-keeping systems.
The new top-spec Isuzu MU-X variant marks its unique identity with gloss-black exterior elements, an exclusive emblem on the front grille, and a unique set of alloys. Inside, it exclusively comes with ambient lighting, black leather seats, foot lamps, and green accents on the seats, dash and door panels that create a level of sophistication.
Isuzu made no changes on the mechanical front, which means the upgraded MU-X continues to be offered with the same turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine options. These include a 1.9-litre unit capable of generating 150 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque and a 3.0-litre mill tuned to deliver 190 PS and 450 Nm. Both come paired with a six-speed AT and 4×2 and 4×4 drive systems.
At the launch of the new MU-X, Isuzu President Shinsuke Minami stated: “The current MU-X, which underwent a full model change in 2020, has been well received in more than 60 countries and regions around the world, including here in Thailand, where it achieved a record market share of 34.6% last year. We are confident that the MU-X, which has undergone a further evolution with a redesigned exterior and interior, will continue to be one of the key products that drive the Isuzu brand to new heights on a global scale.”
The Isuzu MU-X is sold in various countries and regions around the world, including Thailand, Australia, South Africa, the Middle East, and Central America. Notably, Isuzu Malaysia discontinued the MU-X in 2020 after offering it for a few years.
