Subtle Design Refresh and Added Equipment

The facelifted HR-V sports subtle exterior updates, including a redesigned front bumper with a cleaner lower grille and a wider main grille.

The rear design now features updated taillights with slim, red bars for a sleeker look.

While it may not look that much, Honda has ensured these enhancements make the SUV more visually appealing while keeping it distinct in the segment.

The flagship RS variant maintains its unique styling cues with gloss black body accents, a pronounced front spoiler, and chrome strips on the rear bumper.

Exclusive to this top model are matrix projector LED headlights equipped with active cornering functionality and a smoky finish on the taillights, elevating its premium appeal.

    Interior Enhancements and Tech Additions

Inside, the HR-V has adopted a more symmetrical center console design. Honda has equipped the new console with an added storage compartment beneath the climate controls.

The big news is that now as standard, the HR-V include an eight-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six speakers, rear air-con vents, and illuminated vanity mirrors.

Upper variants (from EL and above) benefit from new equipment like USB-C ports for front and rear passengers, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a Qi wireless charging pad.

Standard across all models is Honda Sensing, providing driver-assistance features such as autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with Low Speed Follow, lane-centering assist, and front departure alert.

    Engine and Performance

Under the hood, the Thai-market HR-V is powered exclusively by a hybrid system combining a 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine and an electric motor, generating a combined 131 PS and 253 Nm of torque.

The electric motor powers the front wheels, with the petrol engine contributing at higher speeds via a lock-up clutch, resulting in impressive fuel efficiency rated at 25.6 km per litre – giving it a potential range exceeding 800 km.

Additionally, the RS model includes variable-ratio steering for enhanced handling dynamics.

With these updates, the 2025 Honda HR-V facelift is expected to reach Malaysia next year. Honda has already confirmed the refreshed Civic will be launched locally, likely positioning the HR-V facelift as another key release for the Malaysian market next year.
