2025 Honda Accord launched in the US with a new sporty SE variant
KUALA LUMPUR: Honda discontinued its long-running sedan nameplate, the Accord, in Malaysia last year. However, the sedan continues to thrive in other countries, including the United States, where it just received an upgrade for the model year 2025.

So, what’s all new with the 2025 Honda Accord? All the variants of the sedan now offer greater comfort to the rear occupants with air-conditioning vents and USB-C ports. With the hybrid models now come a Qi-compatible 15W wireless phone charger and heated front seats. However, the top-spec Accord Touring Hybrid benefits from a heated steering wheel.
Replacing the long-running EX variant, the newly launched 2025 Honda Accord SE sets itself apart with sporty black exterior accents and a host of standard high-demand features. The former includes black mirror caps, black 17-inch alloy wheels, and a black shark fin antenna.
The feature-rich cabin incorporates a 10.2-inch digital instrument panel, a 7-inch infotainment unit, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, eight speakers, and a moonroof.
The Accord LX and SE run on a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine good for making 195 PS at 6,000 rpm and 260 Nm from 1,700 to 5,000 rpm. It comes mated to a continuously variable transmission featuring Step-Shift programming that simulates gear changes at full throttle.
The hybrid variants (Sport, EX-L, Sport-L, and Touring), on the other hand, are powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine combined with Honda's efficient two-motor hybrid system. The setup kicks out a combined output of 207 PS and 335 Nm. Besides the three standard drive modes (Econ, Normal, and Sport), the electrified sedan also features an Individual mode that enables the driver to customise the driving experience.
Notably, the Honda Accord Hybrid makes up over 50% of the sedan’s annual sales, playing a crucial role in the brand’s electrification strategy.
All 2025 Accords come standard with the Honda Sensing ADAS suite, which includes features like Collision Mitigation Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Road Departure Mitigation. The sedan also comes with Honda's Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure for added protection in frontal collisions, along with advanced airbags.
The continuing exclusive features available with the top-spec Accord Touring include - Google Built-In, customizable 6-inch head-up display, 12-Speaker Bose Premium audio system, 5G Wi-Fi Hotspot capability, and Berlina Black 19-inch alloy wheels.
The Accord is America's most popular midsize vehicle with Millennial, Gen Z, first-time buyers and multicultural customers, claims Honda.
