Specifications and Features
Based on Geely's Sustainable Electric Architecture (SEA) platform, the smart #3 measures 4,400 mm in length, 1,844 mm in width, 1,556 mm in height, and carries a 2,785-mm long wheelbase, making it just slightly bigger than the smart#1 but with a lower sleeker roof.
Due to this sleeker design, the #3 boasts better aerodynamics compared to the #1, with a lower drag coefficient of 0.27 versus the taller car's 0.29 which translates to improved range and acceleration, making the #3 a more efficient and responsive electric vehicle.
It boasts a striking exterior design with an illuminated front grille, CyberSparksLED+ headlights with adaptive high-beam assist, and a Panoramic Halo Roof.
The variant-specific equipment for the smart #3 closely follows that of the #1. The base Pro model includes a panoramic glass roof, ‘CyberSpark’ LED headlights, a 12.8-inch central touchscreen, a 9.2-inch digital instrument cluster, powered and heated front seats, single-zone climate control, electric flush door handles, a powered tailgate, and 19-inch wheels.
The Premium variant enhances the offering with features such as adaptive high-beam assist for the LED headlights, a 10-inch head-up display, a powerful 13-speaker Beats sound system, Automatic Parking Assistant (APA), a kick sensor for the automatic tailgate, ambient lighting, and unique wheels, maintaining the same 19-inch size as the Pro (20-inch Brabus).
The smart #3 is available in three variants: Pro, Premium, and Brabus. Both the Pro and Premium trims feature a rear-mounted single motor, delivering 272 PS and 343 Nm of torque. This setup allows the EV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 km/h.
However, the Pro and Premium variants differ in their battery configurations. The Pro is equipped with a 49 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, providing a range of 325 km. In contrast, the Premium variant boasts a 66 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery, offering an extended range of up to 455 km on a single charge.
The top-spec Brabus variant stands out with its dual-motor intelligent AWD powertrain, producing 428 PS and 543 Nm of torque. This performance-focused model can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. Like the Premium model, it features a 66 kWh NMC battery, but with a slightly reduced range of 415 km to prioritize performance over efficiency.
Charging
Like the smart#1, the smart#3 has fast charging all around. The smart #3 excels with its 22 kW AC onboard charger, allowing for efficient and flexible charging compared to many other EVs. With a compatible source, the smart #3 can go from 10% to 80% state of charge in just three hours.
As for DC, its support for 150 kW fast chargers is nearly double the rate of the other Chinese EVs, and even beats some models from Mercedes and BMW. smart claims 10-80% SoC in 30 minutes.
However, these charging capabilities are specific to the Premium and Brabus variants. The Pro variant offers 7.4 kW for AC charging and 130 kW for DC fast charging.
Advanced Safety and Technology
Just like the smart#1, the smart#3 comes with smart's assisted driving features which include 21 intelligent assistance such as intelligent cruise control, lane keeping assist, traffic jam assist, signal recognition emergency maneuver assist and many more.
Warranty
The smart #3 comes with a robust warranty package: eight years or 200,000 km coverage for the battery, 150,000 km for the EV components, and a four-year unlimited mileage warranty for the vehicle itself.
Interested customers can book the smart #3 at their nearest authorized smart dealership or through the Hello smart App.
