2024 Honda Civic facelift debuts in Thailand; Malaysia next?
KUALA LUMPUR: Globally introduced in May this year, the all-new Honda Civic facelift has made its way to the Thai market. Honda Thailand has started accepting bookings for the new Civic ahead of the launch scheduled for August 23, 2024.

There is no official information yet available about the new Honda Civic facelift launch in Malaysia.The new Honda Civic is offered in three variants in the Land of Smiles - EL+, e:HEV RS, e:HEV EL+, with estimated pricing beginning from THB 1,03X,XXX.
In terms of design, the upgraded Civic gets a new and sporty honeycomb mesh front grille and new bumpers, offering the sedan a sophisticated look. These are mated to automatic LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, and new smoked LED tail lights with an auto-off function.
The base-spec sedan comes with 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels while the higher-end trims feature 7-spoke 18-inch single-tone grey alloy wheels. Also, part of the update is a new colour option - Canyon River Blue, available for EL+ and e:HEV EL+ trims.
The spacious and comfortable cabin of the new Honda Civic exudes a modern feel with premium materials and advanced features. It benefits from new Prime smooth seats made from suede and synthetic leather, featuring red stitching. The front console and side door panels also sport red trim for a sporty look.
Handling the infotainment duties is a 9-inch touchscreen system mated to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice command, and Honda CONNECT. The revamped model also comes with a new BOSE audio system with 12 speakers, Google built-in apps and services, and four USB Type-C ports.
The Thai-spec Honda Civic is offered in two engine options -
- A 1.5-litre inline-four engine tuned to generate a maximum power of 178 hp and a peak torque of 240 Nm at 1,700-4,500 rpm, with a fuel efficiency of 17.2 kmpl.
- A full hybrid system combining two electric motors, a 141 hp/182 Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder 16-valve engine, and a lithium-ion battery. The setup offers excellent fuel efficiency of up to 25 kmpl.
As for safety, the Honda Civic continues to come equipped with the advanced Honda SENSING package.
With the new Civic facelift debuting in Thailand, Malaysia is likely to be next in line to receive the upgraded sedan.
