2024 BYD ATTO 3 launches in Malaysia - RM150k, bigger screen, new colourway, Extended range dropped

KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Motors, the official distributor of BYD vehicles in Malaysia, has introduced the updated 2024 BYD ATTO 3, a couple months after its global debut. This latest iteration reflects BYD's commitment to value, aiming to improve the driving experience for Malaysian consumers through advanced technology and solid craftsmanship.

The BYD ATTO 3 2024 is engineered on BYD's e-platform 3.0 and features BYD's Ultra-Safe Patented Blade Battery Technology. It has earned a five-star safety rating from the Euro NCAP, a testament to its superior safety standards. Additionally, it boasts an intelligent cabin designed with a sports and fitness concept, providing an unmatched blend of performance and sustainability.

In the 2024 update, the BYD ATTO 3 sees a range of enhancements that emphasize both style and functionality. One notable change in the exterior is the replacement of the previous white fin at the D-pillar with a sophisticated black fin.

This modification not only modernizes the look but also harmonizes beautifully with the vehicle’s rear, which now proudly features the iconic BYD logo, moving away from the previously emblazoned "BUILD YOUR DREAMS" text. This change indicates that the company is responding to consumer feedback and aligning more closely with European standards, demonstrating a move towards more sophisticated and modern branding.

Inside the cabin, the BYD ATTO 3 2024 introduces a fresh interior colour scheme, "Black-Dark Blue," adding a touch of elegance to the overall design. This new option sits alongside the existing Dark Blue-Light Grey color scheme, providing owners with more personalization options based on the exterior color they choose. This update is a testament to BYD’s commitment to offering a premium and customizable driving experience to its customers.

Technologically, the vehicle has also been updated. The upgrade to a larger 15.6-inch intelligent rotating touchscreen from the previous 12.8 inches dramatically enhances the user interface and entertainment capabilities.

According to BYD, the larger screen allows for better visibility and a more immersive interaction with the vehicle’s systems. The continuity of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration ensures that drivers can enjoy seamless connectivity and access to their favorite apps and media on the go. Additionally, the introduction of the new Cosmos Black colour option extends the vehicle's colour palette, providing a sleek and modern choice that enhances its exterior appeal, ensuring that it stands out in both style and performance.

The BYD ATTO 3 2024 has received numerous international accolades, further solidifying its status in the EV market. It has been recognized with awards such as the "Electric Car of the Year" by News UK and "Best EV SUV" at Thailand's Car of the Year 2023 awards.

Pricing and Availability: The BYD ATTO 3 2024 is priced at RM149,800 and is available in four colours: Boulder Grey, Ski White, Surf Blue, and the new Cosmos Black.

It's also noteworthy that the introduction of the 2024 BYD Atto 3 appears to streamline the model’s offerings, now presenting just a single variant. This variant aligns closely with what was previously categorised as the Standard range model. This specification includes a battery size of 49.92 kWh, a range of up to 410 km, 204 horsepower, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.

The vehicle comes with a comprehensive warranty package that includes a 6-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty, an 8-year or 160,000km battery warranty, and an 8-year or 150,000km drive unit warranty.

Service Packages: BYD continues to offer its Service Standard and Service Plus packages, with the Service Plus now including tire rotation, alignment, balancing, and annual 12V battery replacement, ensuring a seamless ownership experience and long-term savings for customers.
