2023 Porsche Cayenne facelift launched in Malaysia; check full details

KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Auto Performance, the official distributor of Porsche cars in Malaysia, has launched the all-new 2023 Porsche Cayenne facelift. Locally assembled at Kulim, Kedah, the new Cayenne is offered in a single variant priced at RM 599,999 (on the road, without insurance).

Upon launching the new 2023 Porsche Cayenne, Christopher Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of Sime Darby Auto Performance, said, “We are proud to launch the new locally assembled Cayenne, providing a range of enhanced standard features specifically catered to our customers in Malaysia. The Cayenne is one of the most popular luxury SUVs in the region, proving its credentials time and time again through strong customer demand.”

Let’s know the 2023 Porsche Cayenne facelift in detail - 

Exterior

The new Cayenne comes with a redesigned front fascia, incorporating a wider and taller grille, a restyled apron with large air intakes, sleeker Matrix LED Headlights, and a new power dome on the bonnet. The rear also gets a refresh with the new three-dimensional tail lights and a new apron design with an integrated number plate holder.

The SUV rolls on 20-inch ‘Cayenne Design’ wheels as standard. However, customers can opt for 21-inch ‘Cayenne Exclusive Design’ or 22-inch ‘Sport Design’ wheels by paying an additional cost of RM 45,000 and RM 49,000 respectively.

Interior

With the new 2023 Porsche Cayenne, we get the “new Porsche Driver Experience” thanks to the reworked dashboard, a new 12.6-inch Curved Display, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit mated to Porsche Communication Management, and a new multifunction Sports steering wheel with shift paddles. Porsche also revised the climate control panel, selector lever, as well as control lever for driver assistance systems. 

Also part of the kit is a new engine start button, a new air quality system, 14-way electric comfort seats with a memory package, four-zone climate control, soft close doors, a 15W wireless mobile charging tray, and a Bose Surround Sound System.

Customers can also opt for a 10.9-inch touchscreen passenger display and Tequipment Rear Seat Entertainment adding two additional screens for the rear occupants.

Engine and Performance

Powering the new Porsche Cayenne is a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine, which cranks out a maximum power of 353 PS from 5,300 to 6,400 rpm and a peak torque of 500 Nm from 1,340 to 5,300 rpm. The updated engine delivers 13 PS and 50 Nm more than the outgoing mill and comes paired with an 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission and a variable AWD system.

Performance-wise, the car runs from zero to 100 kmph in 5.7 seconds with the help of the Sport Chrono package. The top speed is rated at 248 kmph. 

Safety

As for safety, the locally assembled Porsche Cayenne gets adaptive cruise control, warning and brake assist, lane keeping assist, front and rear park assist sensors, and a 360-degree surround-view monitor.
