KUALA LUMPUR: Bermaz Motor, the official distributor of Mazda cars in Malaysia, has launched the all-new 2023 Mazda 3 facelift. The upgraded Mazda 3 is available as a fully imported model from Japan and is offered in both sedan and hatchback (aka Liftback) body styles.

    Exterior

    The updated Mazda 3 adopts an evolved iteration of the brand’s KODO design, inspired by Japanese aesthetics, which gives the vehicle a sleek and elegant appearance. It features LED headlights and tail lights, bulb-type DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels, and four rear parking sensors as standard.

    The High Plus variant adds the brand’s Signature Illumination to the headlights as well as tail lights, LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, and four front parking sensors.

    2023 Mazda 3 facelift

    Engine 

    All the variants of the 2023 Mazda 3 facelift are powered by a 2.0-L SkyActiv-G, DOHC, 16-valve, VVT engine, which cranks out a maximum power of 162 hp at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 213 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The power is sent to the front wheels via a Skyactiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission that comes with a manual shift mode.

    Speaking of top speed, the Mazda 3 sedan reaches a maximum speed of 216 kmph, while the hatchback achieves 210 kmph. The estimated fuel consumption is around 6.2-6.3 litres per 100 km.

    Safety

    While the base variant of the car still misses on advanced safety technologies, the High Plus variants are equipped with a multitude of them. The list includes - Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Cruising & Traffic Support, Adaptive Front-Lighting System, High Beam Control, Lane Departure Warning System, Lane-Keep Assist System, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Driver Attention Alert and Smart Brake Support. With the Ignite Addition, we also get Front Cross Traffic Alert and Driver Attention Alert with Driver Monitoring.

    The all-new Mazda 3 facelift is on display from October 11 to 15, 2023, at the Oval Concourse, 1 Utama Shopping Centre, from 10 AM to 10 PM.
