2023 Honda WR-V bookings open in Malaysia; preview event from 16 June to 9 July

KUALA LUMPUR: During the Honda Media Gathering event held in March this year, Honda Malaysia confirmed the arrival of four new models in 2023. As per that, the automaker has now started accepting bookings for one of them, called the Honda WR-V (which stands for Winsome Runabout Vehicle). The WR-V is a small SUV that made its world premiere in Indonesia back in November. 

Honda WR-V - Key highlights

• The SUV features a compact and well-proportioned design with exclusive elements like a unique front grille, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and a new RS emblem on the top-spec RS trim

• Parts of the exterior equipment kit are - auto LED headlights, LED DRLs, LED front fog lights, power-retractable door mirrors, and LED sequential turn signals
• Dimensionally, it measures 4,060 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width, and 1,608 mm in height. The ground clearance is measured at 207 mm
• The SUV also features the Honda CONNECT, which is an innovative technology allowing customers to access a variety of functions via their smartphones. 
• The Malaysia-spec Honda WR-V is powered by a 1.5-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine generating a maximum power of 121 PS and a peak torque of 145 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via a Continuous Variable Transmission featuring a G-design shift technology

• In terms of safety, the upcoming Honda SUV is loaded with several advanced gears packaged as Honda SENSING. It includes 8 different systems - Lead Car Departure Notification, Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keep Assist System, Road Departure Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, and Auto High Beam 
• Adding to the safety is the Honda LaneWatch system, which offers comes in handy at the time of navigating roads with multiple lanes 
• The SUV will rival the likes of the Perodua Ativa

Honda WR-V launch and preview sessions 

Honda Malaysia is set to launch the new WR-V in the third quarter of this year, however, before that it is organising the exclusive preview sessions of the SUV at selected Honda dealerships.
