2023 Honda Brio facelift introduced in Indonesia, gets visual updates, new hues, and more

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Indonesia has launched a new facelifted model in the form of the 2023 Brio. The A-segment hatch is now offered in five trim options, namely Satya S M/T, Satya E M/T, Satya E CVT, RS M/T, and RS CVT. The price for the updated model ranges from 165.9 million rupiahs (RM50,014) to 243.9 million rupiahs (RM73,529).

Engine

Powering the new Brio is the tried and tested naturally-aspirated 1.2-liter 4-cylinder SOHC i-VTEC petrol mill generating a maximum power of 90 PS at 6,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 110 Nm at 4,800 rpm.

Transmission

The drive is sent to the front wheels either via a 5-speed manual transmission or an Earth Dreams CVT option.

Design

The Brio facelift showcases several visual upgrades including -

• A new grille with a more pronounced honeycomb-patterned insert
• Downsized chrome bar
• T-shaped trim on the front apron
• Standard halogen headlamps
• LED DRLs (E trim)
• Grille with diamond pattern and an ‘RS’ badge (RS trim)
• LED headlamps with DRLs (RS trim)
• LED fog lamps (RS trim)
• Black side mirrors (RS trim)
• 15-inch alloy wheels in a dark chrome finish (RS trim)
• 14-inch steelies (S trim)
• 14-inch two-tone alloys (E trim)

Interior

Unlike the exterior, the 2023 Brio retains the same dashboard setup as before. However, there are a few changes including -

• A new instrument cluster with a multi-info display
• Ambient lighting touches near the shifter (RS and E CVT)
• A 2-DIN head unit
• A seven-inch Display Audio touchscreen
• Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support
• Keyless entry and engine start
• Tweeter speakers
• Red and gray accents
• Black-on-black cabin theme
• Steering audio controls (E trim onwards)
• Speed-sensing auto lock (E trim onwards)
• An Eco indicator
• Digital controls for the manual air-conditioning system

Safety

The car’s safety is taken care of by - dual front SRS airbag & seatbelt reminder, ABS with EBD, pre-tensioner with load limiter seat belt, and alarm system & immobilizer.Color options

The Sayta & RS trims are offered in three hues namely - Electric Lime Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Crystal Black Pearl

Also part of the kit is a few exclusive color options like Rallye Red and Taffeta White for the Sarya variants and Stellar Diamond Pearl and a two-tone Phoenix Orange Pearl for the RS model.
