2022 will see the all-new Koenigsegg hypercar
KUALA LUMPUR: New year packs in new hopes, lots of fun, and surprises. For the automotive industry, it means new cars, advanced features, facelifts, and much more.
Koenigsegg for instance entered the new year with a bang by releasing a teaser image of its upcoming hypercar. Along with the teaser was a resolution by the Swedish automaker that read, "Dear 2022, here's our New Year's resolution - More ultimate performance through clever engineering and optimal design. Here we go!"
Coming to the teaser image, it shows a shadowy image with design detail clearly visible. However, the pop-out, angled tail light does remind us of the 2006 CCX, the first Koenigsegg to feature an in-house engine. Also, the subtle rear diffuser is a shout to the Agera and the front splitter of the 2004 CCR.
Overall, the entire design execution is in line with the automaker’s typical design language that includes smooth lines, teardrop cabin shape, and wrap-around windshield.
No more details about the upcoming Koenigsegg are revealed, however, if we are to guess, it might have something to do with the 20th anniversary of Koenigsegg’s first production supercar delivery, the CC8S. Or maybe not, and it could be a completely new model.
Well, fret not. As in the months to come as Koenigsegg will reveal more information about the upcoming model we’ll get a clearer picture. So, stay turned.
