2022 Porsche Cayenne to be automaker’s first locally-assembled model in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The news is confirmed. Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP), the official distributor of Porsche Malaysia has announced the new Cayenne to be Malaysia’s first locally-assembled model. The news follows the automaker’s August statement about its entering the CKD business. As for the assembly of the 2022 Cayenne, it will take place at Kulim, Kedah.

2022 Porsche Cayenne price

The new Cayenne is priced at RM 550,000 with sales and service tax exempted. Thus, making it RM 130,000 cheaper than the Cayenne Premium Package, launched in 2020. Also, it is interesting to know that the base CBU Cayenne retailed for RM 795,000 (without additional options).

The new Cayenne is powered by the automaker’s 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged mill that generates a maximum power of 340 PS at 5,300 to 6,400 rpm along with a peak torque of 450 Nm at 1,340 to 5,300 rpm. The power is sent to the wheels via an 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission and comes with an active-wheel drive system.

In a typical sports car performance style, the Cayenne completes a century sprint in just 6.2 seconds.

2022 Porsche Cayenne exterior hues & interior themes

Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) is offering the locally-assembled Cayenne in three exterior colours namely - Quartzite Grey Metallic, Carrara White Metallic, and Jet Black Metallic. The cabin is offered two leather themes - a two-tone Black-Bordeaux Red and Black.
