2022 Peugeot 308 SW: What's new
The all-new 2022 Peugeot 308 SW is finally here, that's just three months after its unveiling. As for its availability, the French wagon is expected to hit the showrooms by early 2022. So, hold tight and until then let's check out what all new elements and updates it gets.
2022 Peugeot 308 SW dimensions
The new Peugeot 308 SW is considered to be a more practical variant as it offers a sizable boot space of 608-litres that can be further expanded to 1,634-litre with the rear seat folded. The wheelbase is stretched by 55 mm and the length by 60 mm.
2022 Peugeot 308 SW design
Compared to the regular hatch version, the new 308 SW looks quite elongated. Though the front fascia remains the same, we see stretched-out roofline and roof rails. Also, the three-quarter windows are longer.
It is the rear that caught our most attention, thanks to its unique styling. The major difference being the independent LED tail lights, they are no more connected, thus making room for the new lion badge to move up. Also, the number plate has been moved up a bit, creating an overall neat and tidy appearance.
2022 Peugeot 308 SW cabin
The cabin detailing and amenities are pretty much the same as the ongoing 308. It features the brand's i-Cockpit layout that includes a 10-inch fully digital instrument cluster, and a 10-inch widescreen touch display at the centre. All models get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity as standard, however, the wireless connectivity is limited to the Allure Premium and up variants.
The catch here is a second display that can be optimized to sit under the main unit. The owner can replace the climate controls with user-customizable shortcuts, amazing isn't it?
The centre tunnel features a stylish toggle-style automatic gear selector along with a drive mode rocker. There's also space for a wireless charging station, two cup holders, and 34-litre storage cells.
There is no dearth of comfort inside the new 308 SW. For instance, it features AGR certified seats that offer amazing ergonomics, 10-way power adjustment with two memory settings, and a multi-point massage and heated function.
2022 Peugeot 308 SW powertrain
The new 308 SW sits on the same upgraded EMP2 platform and the engine options remain unchanged. For early adopters, there are two options - the Hybrid 180 and Hybrid 225 (numbers representing the power on tap). Doing duty under the hood is a 1.6-litre PureTech four-cylinder turbo mill paired to an 81 kW electric motor. It makes either 150PS/250 Nm or 180 PS.
Non-hybrid options include - a 1.2-litre PureTech 130 and a 1.5-litre BlueHDi 130. Power is sent to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission unit in all the variants.
As for battery and charging, the hybrid trims come equipped with a 12.4 kWh battery pack that provides an all-electric range of up to 60 km. Available as standard is a 3.7 kW onboard charger, however, customers can upgrade to a 7.4 kW unit. The latter allows for a single-phase wallbox to fully charge the car in just two hours. The standard eight-ampere domestic socket, on the other hand, will take approximately seven hours to hit 100% charge mark.
2022 Peugeot 308 SW safety
The new 308 estate comes with the automaker's new Drive Assist 2.0 suite of safety and driver assist features. The list of features include -
- Adaptive cruise control

- Ability to slow down at corners at speed up to 180 kmph
