2022 Honda HR-V introduced in Thailand, gets e:HEV hybrid powertrain as standard
KUALA LUMPUR: Honda has brought in the much-anticipated HR-V to the shores of Thailand. For the time being, the globally third-generation Honda HR-V has been introduced in Thailand only in its hybrid version, which is named as e: HEV hybrid. It will be available in three different variants - E, EL, and RS with an estimated starting price of under THB 1 million (RM 125k).
The e: HEV hybrid version of the new Honda HR-V has a powertrain combination of a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated Atkinson cycle petrol engine, which makes 105 bhp of power and 127 Nm of torque, lithium-ion battery, and two electric motors. The combined performance outputs of this whole powertrain combination are maximum power output of 131 bhp and maximum torque of 253 Nm.
The major highlights of the overall design of the updated Honda HR-V on the outside include full LED headlamps with daytime running LED, sequential LED turn indicators and full-width LED tail lamps. On the inside, the HR-V gets panoramic glass roof, wireless charger, 7-inch TFT instrument console, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, touch-sensitive LED reading lamps, electronic parking brake, air diffuser, hands-free powered tailgate, ‘Ultra Seats’ with three different modes of foldability (Utility mode, Long mode and Tall mode).
In addition to six airbags, the Thai-spec Honda HR-V is also well-equipped with an ADAS safety pack, consisting of lane keep assist, collision mitigation braking, auto high beam, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lead car departure notification, road departure mitigation with lane departure warning and lane watch camera.
The top-spec RS variant of the 2022 Honda HR-V comes with additional design highlights like chrome studded grille with RS logo, horizontal slats for the lower grille, gloss black treatment for the lower lip, wheel arches, lower side skirts and rear bumper, 18-inch grey alloy wheels with wider tyres, smoked effect for the tail lamps, black leather upholstery with red stitching and a special Ignite Red colour scheme.
All the variants of the HR-V are available with Premium Sunlight White Pearl, Platinum White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, and Meteoroid Grey.
Honda offers the 2022 HR-V with a standard warranty of 3 years/100,000 km, 5 year/unlimited km warranty for the hybrid system, and a 10 year/unlimited km warranty for the lithium-ion battery.
