2022 Ford Everest coming to Malaysia this September
KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC), the official distributor of Ford cars in Malaysia recently treated us with the launch of the all-new Ford Ranger. And while we still can’t get over the new pickup truck and its features, the brand has announced the soon arrival of the 2022 Everest.

Ford Malaysia's line-up will soon include the all-new Everest SUV. The news was made official by SDAC via a ‘save the date’ post that not only showed the upcoming Ford in shadow with just its LED DRLs visible clearly but also mentioned the car’s arrival time and date.

Platform: The new Everest is built on the same platform as the Ranger, i.e., an updated version of T6 body-on-frame platform.
Variants: New Ford Everest recently got launched in Thailand where it is offered in four trim options including - the 2.0L Bi-Turbo Titanium+ 4x4, 2.0L Bi-Turbo Titanium+ 4x2,
2.0L Turbo Sport 4x2, and 2.0L Turbo Trend 4x2. Only with the local launch, we will get to know about the Malaysia-spec model variant detail.
Price: The Thai-spec model price ranges from 1.464 million baht (approx RM 183,230) to 1.854 million baht (approx. RM 232,000).
Engine: The Thai-spec Everest is offered in two powertrain options - single-turbo and bi-turbo units. These two options are already part of the Malaysia-spec Ranger line-up and so is expected to be a part of the upcoming Everest line-up as well. As for the powertrain configuration, the single turbo unit makes 170 hp and 405 Nm and the bigger bi-turbo mill generates 210 hp and 500 Nm of torque.
Exterior: Though Ford has not revealed much information about the next-gen Everest, however, the dark car image on the teaser shows the same Ranger-like C-Clamp headlight.
Interior: The new Everest is expected to offer a luxurious and spacious cabin with loads of amazing amenities. Part of the SUVs Thai-spec model kit is - a 12.4-inch colour info display, dual-zone climate control air-con system, wireless charger, power 8-way driver & passenger seat, power fold 3rd-row seat, 2nd-row air-con vents, auto-dimming rearview mirror with USB, ambient lighting, 12-inch multi-touch screens, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto support, and much more.
Safety: The car’s standard safety kit in the Thai model includes - seven airbags, emergency assistance, front & rear parking sensor, rearview mirror, cruise control, ABS with EBD, ESP with Traction Control, Hill Launch Assist & Roll Over Mitigation, and Electric Parking Brake. The higher-spec variants benefit from a full suite of advanced driver assist technology.
We expect the Malaysia-spec 2022 Everest to be available with the same features as the Thai-spec model.
