KUALA LUMPUR: General Motors has taken the wraps off the new Chevrolet Trailblazer, which will hit the markets in 2021, nearly 20 years after its debut. The new version is a compact SUV, which looks like a smaller variant of the Blazer SUV. It will be slotted between Trax and Equinox.

It includes Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking. Trailblazer will also get rear park assist, a high-definition rearview camera, and adaptive cruise control.
Design-wise, 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer looks similar to the variant that was showcased at the Shanghai Auto Show. The baby Blazer comes with a huge grille along with sharp edges.
Moving inside the cabin, new Chevrolet Trailblazer welcomes with a horizontal dashboard design that contains a simple gauge cluster, which resembles Equinox. There is a touchscreen infotainment system above climate and audio controls. The RS versions of the car will get a red trim around the vents to give it a sporty feel.
Though Chevrolet has not revealed the mechanical bits, it has been rumored that the entry level Trailblazer will come with a 1.4-litre turbo four petrol engine, which can provide a maximum power of 138 hp along with a peak torque of 200 Nm. The SUV will also borrow powertrain options from Equinox, which has a 1.6-litre turbodiesel mill offering maximum power of 137 hp and a peak torque of 325 Nm. There is also a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which can produce 170 hp of power and 275 Nm of peak torque. The performance flagship variant will get a 2.0-litre turbo that pushes out a maximum of 252 hp power along with 353 of peak torque.
