2020 Perodua Bezza facelift launched in Malaysia
After a series of updates and teasers, finally, the official launch day is here. The Malaysian automaker has launched the new Bezza facelift almost after three and a half years of its initial launch. The Bezza facelift is far more aggressive than what it used to be. Thanks to its new front bumper, revised grille and sharp faux vents.
The headlamps get a new design which now features LED as standard across the range. Along with that, the side skirts are also standard, available in dual-tone, body paint and black. There are new dual-tone 15-inch alloy wheels to accentuate the outside appeal of the sedan. The rear also gets some changes, refreshed tail lamps that are connected with the help of new chrome central strip.
Talking about the inside of the new Bezza facelift, nothing majorly has been changed. Although the overall dash architecture remains the same as before, newness is embedded with subtle revisions done to its full-width trim’s design.
The top-spec AV variant gets a silver bar on the dash that upturns to embrace the 2-DIN touchscreen unit, which also gets the reverse camera. The air vents also get silver highlighting. Other noticeable components on the new Perodua Bezza specs sheet include power-adjustable ORVMs with turn signals and Perodua’s Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) 2.0 suite.
The brand’s ASA is exclusive to only the top-spec AV model which includes driver-assist systems like Pre-Collision Braking up to 80 kmph, Pre-collision Warning up to 100 kmph, Pedestrian Detection up to 50 kmph, Pedal Misoperation Control, and Front Departure Alert. Aside from these, safety features like ABS and EBD are standard across the range. The rear parking sensors are part of the standard equipment too.
The 1.3-litre models are, however, benefitted from vehicle stability control, keyless entry with push start and front corner sensors. The 1.3-litre models are available in an exclusive colour called Garnet Red, whereas, another new Granite Grey colour is available across the range along with existing four colours - Sugar Brown, Ocean Blue, Glittering Silver and Ivory White. There is a new white illuminated meter panel inside the cabin that’s been redesigned completely for the facelift model.
No change has been observed in 2020 Perodua Bezza engine specs, 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine is capable of churning out a max power of 67 PS and a peak torque of 91 Nm, whereas the bigger displacement engine is good for 94 PS and 121 Nm. The base GX model can be bought with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed auto transmission. The 1.3 X and 1.3 AV variants, on the other hand, are available with only automatic transmission.
