2020 Mitsubishi ASX revealed; will make its debut at Geneva Motor Show 2019
KUALA LUMPUR: The Mitsubishi ASX gets a new facelift, which is set to make its debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The facelifted model gets some modifications done on the exterior and also feature minor changes in the equipment list.
The 2020 ASX will be available in three color variants - Sunshine Orange, Oak Brown, and Red Diamond. The facelifted Mitsubishi ASX adorns the brand’s new ‘Dynamic Shield’ philosophy, which results in an entirely new look. The front fascia is similar to that of the Eclipse Cross. The headlamps are now slimmer, and the fog lamps and turn signal indicators are clustered below them.
There is a skid plate near the base of the bumper, and the front grille gets an all-new two-tier shape with vertical inserts. At the rear, the 2019 Mitsubishi ASX gets a brand-new LED tail light with prominent T-shaped graphics. The skid plate back there gets a bolder design, and more space is allocated at the lower apron. The vehicle comes with a decorative trim placed near the front wheel arches.
The cabin appears to be heavily carried forward without many modifications, unlike the exterior. However, the size of the infotainment display is revised to eight inches.
The European-spec ASX will be equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder gasoline engine that is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. However, the buyers can also opt for the INVECS-III CVT. The drivetrain can be had with either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive options. The manufacturer has not spoken about the diesel engine, which indicates that the 1.6-litre mill might get dropped from the lineup.
