2020 Kia Stinger exterior and interior images revealed

KUALA LUMPUR: Kia Stinger made its debut three years ago, and now the sedan is ready for its very first facelift. The revised model will first go on sale in the brand's home country, South Korea, followed by other international markets. Keeping the hype alive around the 2020 Stinger, the automaker has released a bunch of exterior and interior images, giving us a good idea about the car's design theme.

Let's now analyse each of the released 2020 Stinger images one by one -

Starting with its front profile, the facelifted Kia Stinger looks very much like the ongoing model, but hold on, look closely, and notices the revisions. While the grille remains the same, the sedan now features a new set of headlamps and a revised set of LED DRLs. Both of which appear 'darker & sleeker' when not put to use.

The automaker has also released the car's rear-side angle image, wherein we see a sloping roofline that seamlessly merges with the trunk. The vehicle features body-coloured door handles and ORVM with turn indicators. The air intakes are now placed on the fenders and outlined with chrome, giving the side profile that one stand-out element. It's hard not to notice the aluminium alloy wheels that feature an intricate, geometric design. As per sources, there will be two-wheel size options available for customers to choose from - 18-inch and 19-inch.

The rear profile of the all-new Stinger, just like the front, is striking and is done tastefully. The first thing that grabs attention is the new tail light setup, which consists of an overhead lighting unit that runs through the width of the trunk lid and goes along with the rear spoiler's shape. Next up are the lower turn signals that feature ten individual LEDs each. In the image, we see the 'GT' badge, and the variant benefits from exhaust mufflers done in silver finish.

The high-performance GT variant will also get Dark Package as optional. It will include a 'Stinger' emblem, gloss black diffuser surround, and black exhaust tips. For the American market, the same package includes side fender trim, 19-inch matte black wheels, black mirror caps, and new rear wing.

The cabin image shown above resembles the existing model; however, changes have been done. For example, there is a new frameless IRVM, 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster with chrome bezel and steering wheel with a metallic finish. Also, contrast stitching is visible in the door and dashboard. The sedan now gets an upgraded 10.25-inch infotainment display with a glossy black finish. Adding to the plush look and feel of the car is the new 64-colour ambient lighting system.

The 2020 Kia Stinger will be accompanied by a variety of new interior material and colour options. For example, plush leather in beige, red, and black options. For the Korean market, there is a dark brown monotone interior with Nappa leather seats.
