2020 Honda CR-V facelift: What’s new?
Honda Malaysia recently on 5th November launched the facelifted CR-V and as expected the SUV benefits from several updates. However, like before it is still offered as a CKD model with its variant lineup slightly tweaked.
Without wasting any time, let’s see what the new 2020 Honda CR-V has in stock, starting with the variant options.
2020 Honda CR-V Variant & Price
The 2020 CR-V is available in three trim options locally. At the base is the 2.0 2WD trim, priced at RM 139,913 (on-the-road without insurance), thus making it RM 4,717 cheaper than the pre-facelift 2.0 2WD CR-V model.
Next up is the mid-spec 1.5 TC-P 2WD model which is priced at RM 157,616, so it’s RM 10,850 cheaper than the old mate.
New to the Honda CR-V lineup is the range-topping 1.5 TC-P 4WD trim. Priced at RM 162,91, it replaces the earlier available 1.5 TC 2WD and 1.5 TC 4WD options.
2020 Honda CR-V Powerplant
As can be suspected from the CR-V variant list, the SUV is available in two engine options - a 2.0-litre and a 1.5-litre unit.
On a more elaborating note, the former is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder SOHC i-VTEC naturally-aspirated petrol engine making a maximum power of 154 PS at 6,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 189 Nm at 4,300 rpm.
The latter two are powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder DOHC VTEC turbocharged mill churning out 193 PS of power at 5,600 rpm and 243 Nm of torque from 2,000 to 5,000 rpm.
Both the two engines are paired with a CVT unit that sends power to the front-wheel in 2WD-badged trim and to all-wheels in the top variant.
2020 Honda CR-V Exterior
The CR-V facelift does benefit from a few styling tweaks, for instance, the redesigned front bumper with a wide lower apron highlighted by black plastic and undulating chrome trim. Also, instead of chrome, the front grille now gets a gloss black bar.
Similarly, chrome elements at the rear bumper are replaced by a matte silver trim and the earlier circular exhaust units are replaced by stylish looking trapezoidal units. The LED taillights now get a darker tint.
While the base trim runs on the same old 17-inch wheels with five-spoke design, the two turbo trims get 18-inch units with a new five-split-spoke design. Besides, the turbo variants are the ones benefiting from the powered tailgate with hands-free functionality and twin tailpipe chrome finish.

2020 Honda CR-V Interior
At first glance, the CR-V cabin looks unchanged compared to the pre-facelift version, however, there are a few revisions here and there. Like, the bottom spoke of the steering wheel gets a black trim, also the new model gains two USB ports present below the gear lever and two more ports for rear passengers.
The turbo variants gain a few extras like automatic wipers, remote engine start, and premium wood-like interior trim.

- Hill Start Assist

2020 Honda CR-V Colour Options
