2016 Suzuki Baleno: Online Pictures Revealed
Kuala Lumpur: Ahead of its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this month, Suzuki, the Japanese automaker has released some pictures of production ready Suzuki Baleno hatchback. Three weeks earlier, they had also revealed the side profile of this five-door hatchback and we also got a glimpse of its nose and taillights through a teaser video. All new Suzuki Baleno looks similar to the Ik-2 concept which was showcased earlier at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

Official dimensions of the new Suzuki Baleno are yet to be revealed, but you can expect it to be similar to iK-2 concept which measures 4023 mm long, 1920 mm wide and 1450 mm tall along with a wheelbase of 2520 mm. The side profile of this car is characterized by a neat shoulder line. It would also feature a rigid, lightweight new-generation platform built from high tensile strength steel which translates to decent weight savings.
Under the hood, Suzuki Baleno would be powered by a 1.0-litre direct-injection turbocharged engine branded as Boosterjet. Along with that SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) would also be offered further assisted by an integrated starter generator. Although it is unclear whether Boosterjet and SHVS will be offered together or as separate options.

This car has been designed to tackle the B-segment supermini market with the likes of Volkswagen Polo, Ford Fiesta, Opel Corsa, Peugeot 208, Citroen C3, Renault Clio, Hyundai i20 and Toyota Yaris. Suzuki Baleno is expected to enter UK showrooms in September 2016 and can be expected in Malaysia in near future. Throughout the world, it would be sold with different nameplates.
