2016 Ford Kuga Facelift makes a Debut at the Mobile World Congress
Kuala Lumpur: Recently some official pictures of 2016 Ford Kuga facelift were revealed and now this car has made a European debut at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Although a Malaysian launch is yet to be confirmed, but it would go on sale in the UK by October 2016. Ford Kuga is basically a mid-size SUV which sits one segment above the crossover EcoSport. But this facelift is slightly different from the one which was revealed in November 2015.
Talking about the car, under the hood it would be powered by a 1.5-litre TDCi turbodiesel engine that churns out a maximum power of 120 PS. This engine joins the current lineup which includes a 2.0-litre TDCi diesel engine with power outputs of 150 PS and 180 PS along with a 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol engine with power outputs of 120 PS, 150 PS and 182 PS. Al these variants have got a front-wheel drive, however an option of all-wheel drive is also made available with the Ford's Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.
Towards the front fascia, the 2016 Kuga features a huge trapezoidal grille along with Bi-xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights. At the rear end, it gets new taillights, a redesigned boot lid and twin exhaust pipes. Further, the wheel choice includes 17-inch, 18-inch or 19-inch alloy wheels. Even inside, a lot of tweaks can be noticed. The air-conditioning controls have been redesigned with less buttons. Moreover, it also gets a new 8.0-inch touchscreen which is further assisted with Ford's SYNC3 system along with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Looks like Ford is on an SUV spree as recently it announced its plans to launch four new SUVs by 2020. And now this new Kuga has just added fuel to the fire.
