14 new BYD dealers appointed in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Yes, that’s completely right. With a vision to expand its market reach and customer base, BYD has appointed 14 new dealers across Malaysia. Along with Sime Darby Beyond Auto, the brand now accounts for a total of 21 dealerships in the country; 9 are now open, and 12 coming soon.

BYD Malaysia’s new dealers participated in a group dealer signing ceremony that took place at the company’s headquarters in Shenzhen, China. Wherein they also got a chance to take a tour of the headquarters and witness the brand's dynamic range of cutting-edge innovative products and R&D capabilities.

Present at the ceremony was the Managing Director of Sime Darby Motors Retail & Distribution Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and Macau, Jeffrey Gan, he personally signed the agreement with each of the new dealers at the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Gan said, “This announcement marks another milestone as it has only been six months since we launched BYD in Malaysia and today, we have 21 dealership locations lined up to meet rising EV demand. This indeed demonstrates our confidence of EV prospects in Malaysia’s automotive industry while ensuring that we are well-equipped to serve the market.”

Also presented at the signing ceremony were, the General Manager of BYD Asia Pacific Auto Sales Division, Liu Xueliang, and Managing Director of BYD Malaysia, Eagle Zhao, and the BYD team.

“This agreement between Sime Darby Motors and BYD is yet another step forward in the automotive green revolution and is indicative of the changing dynamics of the industry. As the partnership progresses, we expect to provide further technological advancements and consumer experience, driving the industry towards a greener, more efficient, and more sustainable future,” said Mr Zhao.
