Toyota Sienta - Spec, price, and more

The MPVs have their own charm as they bring so much to the table in terms of practicality, space, comfort, and efficiency. This charm multiplies by two when the price is marked below RM100,000 and the brand is Toyota. We are talking about the Toyota Sienta, an MPV from the portfolio of the world’s highest-rated automaker sold in Malaysia and a few other parts of the world.

Having positioned in between the mighty Toyota Innova and the Avanza, the Sienta has garnered a lot of admiration. Recently, it has received a significant upgrade that accounts for new features at zero additional cost. Let’s see what the new Sienta has in store for all of us.

What’s new?

The updated Sienta gets a new 6.9-inch DVD-AVX touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, HDMI, and SD card support functionalities. Additionally, it gets a reverse camera, a removable trunk mat for rear cargo space, and a USB charging port for second-row passengers. The optional 7.0-inch touchscreen DVD-AVX infotainment system with inbuilt GPS navigation system is, however, remains to be on the offerings list.

Another inclusion that costs you RM2,332 to be equipped on your Sienta is the panoramic view monitor parking assist camera system, with outside view displayed on the touchscreen of the infotainment system.

More features

Aside from the newly-added ones, the 2018 Sienta features automatic Bi-LED headlamps that activate in case of low light, power sliding doors, sleek rear LED combination lamps and eye-grabbing 16-inch alloy wheels. Additionally, it gets a multi-functional leather steering wheel, keyless entry, and push-button start.

The list continues with more features like an Optitron instrument cluster with 4.2-inch full-colour multi info display and auto air conditioning with a rear blower.

Some of the optional accessories on the Sienta are an aero kit package that has a front bumper spoiler and side skirts, portable tyre pump, premium security and solar film. There is also an exclusive Toyota Auto Tag for breezing through the toll gates. The Auto tag is completely secured and fitted in a discreet position inside the car, additionally, it warns you of low balance so that you can get it refilled in time.

Safety aids

For total peace of mind, the new Sienta gets plenty of essential as well as advanced safety features. One thing that’s unchanged on the all-new Sienta is its engine, however, it now comes with only one engine option and that is a 1.5-litre 2NR-FE, four-cylinder DOHC, Dual VVT-i engine, mated to a 7-speed Sport Sequential Shiftmatic CVT. The powertrain produces a max power of 107 PS at 6000rpm and a peak torque of 140 Nm at 4200 rpm. It is a fuel-efficient MPV with an average economy of 15 kmpl.

Colors

The MPV gives a customer six different colour options to choose from, Orange Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, Super White II, Gray Metallic, Quartz Brown Metallic, and Silver Metallic.

Pricing

Now available as a single variant model, the updated Toyota Sienta 1.5V A/T retails at RM91,527.55 in Malaysia. It is the on-the-road price without insurance.
