Subaru Forester 2016 – What this new model stores in for Malaysians?

Kuala Lumpur: A big war in the crossover segment has been initiated and the credit completely goes to the automakers which are creating cars for this segment with all the essentials; good enough to give sweat to their rivals. Adding to this list is the new Subaru Forester which is making its way to the Malay soil in April 2016. The new Forester is not just about any other crossover for Malaysians, the good news is that it would be arriving in CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kits which would be assembled at the Tan Chong's plant situated at Segambut. With close to one month left before its arrival, the prospective customers must be wondering what this drive has in it which motivates them to thrash some RM 164,000 from their pockets. Let's find out what good this drive is going to do to the customers, Malaysians to be in particular -

Economic Boost and Quick Delivery

Forester to boost economy

The first and foremost thing is that the local assembling would trigger the Malaysian economy. Till now, the Subaru plant was assembling on Subaru XV crossover and now with one more drive lining up for assembling, there would be more workforce required. Approximately 10,000 kits have already been received by the plant and the production will start anytime soon. Apart from this, the local assembling would help in reducing the workload from the Subaru main manufacturing plant in Japan and ultimately fasten the delivery of the drives. For Malay customers, the company is committed to accelerating the delivery process and so they would be preferred.

Superficial changes

Forester exterior

Carrying the label of being a family drive doesn't mean that it has to be a boring conventional drive. Well, at least, Subaru doesn't believe in this. The new Subaru Forester is landing with 2 trim levels – 2.0i and 2.i-P and both of them carry revisions at their covers. The slightly revamped front grille can do wonders, don't believe us, check out the new Forester. The new grille with a brand new bumper and wheels have given it the much-needed enhancement which was missing in the outgoing version. Adding grace to this structure are the revised C-shaped daytime running lights and a couple other fine tweaks.

Cabin you would love

Forester Interior

When it comes to a family drive, customers prefer the one loaded with comfort and convenience and talking about 2016 Subaru Forester, it surely won't disappoint you. The Japanese designers have kept all the needs of the passengers in mind while styling the cabin. Loaded with basic amenities like good quality upholstery, automatic air-conditioning facility and ample space, Forester 2016 is a real charmer. Adding to the comfort is the revised infotainment facility comprising CD player, Bluetooth compatibility, USB and AUX connectivity. Adding cherries to this cake are the all-new LCD multi-information screen with SD navigation system.

Soul beneath the bonnet

Forester engine

The new Forester 2016 is not just about cosmetic beauty and space. You would feel the real pleasure once you hold the steering of this drive and accelerate it. Don't believe us, well, you would surely believe the efficiency of the 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated power unit which is engineered to knock out 150 PS of power and 198 Nm of torque. The Lineartronic CVT transmission mated with this mill enhances its performance, no doubts. An option of turbo unit with similar capacity is also there which almost doubles the power with 240 PS and torque with 350 Nm than the naturally aspirated engine.

Overall, buying 2016 Subaru Forester would be a great deal for those who are looking for affordable but decently packed vehicle. The latest model has got everything you would require making your family drives comfortable and fun while keeping the safety element in mind. Though Subaru is a well-known name but it has not been able to mark its presence among the top most automakers. It would be great to see if the local assembling can really boost the sales numbers and bring back that lost glory!
