Mitsubishi ASX – Top reasons to buy

Mitsubishi might not be in its best times and is in an altogether different world from what it was in. Gone are the heydays of making envious Lancers and Pajeros, and what Mitsubishi is focusing on now is a new generation of SUVs to lift itself up from the doldrums. One of the models with which it is trying to pick up the pace is the all-new ASX compact SUV.

Following are some of the reasons why you should not miss out the Mitsubishi ASX when considering a compact SUV to purchase:-

1) Size and dimensions

ASX Rear

SUVs are the in-thing not only in Malaysia and other ASEAN markets, but also across the globe in other continents. And considering the growing traffic scenarios, the compact SUVs are the perfect answer for offering style with substance and practicality. The Mitsubishi ASX has perfect dimensions to make it look big, yet with a smaller footprint as compared to other large SUVs offering the same level of practicality at higher price points.

2) Features

Mitsubishi ASX Cabin

The Mitsubishi ASX might be an entry-level compact SUV, given its price positioning in Malaysia. But this doesn’t shy away from the fact that it is loaded with the finest essential features one could expect from an SUV of this class. You do get projector headlamps and daytime running LEDs at the front, rain sensing wipers, a touchscreen infotainment system with in-built reverse camera and navigation, seven airbags, cruise control, fully automatic AC, leather upholstery, electrically foldable rear view mirrors, rear reclining seats, shark fin antenna, and push start-stop button with keyless entry.

3) Technology

The Mitsubishi ASX sources its power from a 2.0-litre inline-4 MIVEC petrol engine which develops 150 PS of power and 197 Nm of torque, which is quite a powerful mill for a compact SUV of this size. With an estimated fuel efficiency of 13.2 kmpl, this particular petrol engine has already done its duty in the lovable Lancer sedan, so the doubts of its reliability and performance have already been ruled out. Also, the ASX is available with a 5 year/unlimited km warranty, which is a testimony of the aspect of reliability for which Mitsubishi is known worldwide. Apart from it, the ASX also comes with paddle shifters in the optional CVT transmission variant, optional AWD system, all wheel control button and a fully independent suspension system and best in class turning radius.

4) Safety

Given the fact that it is the only SUV in its class which offers seven airbags for its occupants, it can be safely said that the Mitsubishi ASX is the safest SUV in its segment. Apart from this particular feature, the ASX also features seatbelts with pre-tensioners and force limiters, traction control system, ETACS, ABS with EBD, hill start assist and active stability control.
