Check out some of the most amazing EV concepts announced in 2021
2021 ushered several concept cars by eminent automakers - each more exciting than the other. All of the concept cars revolve around the EV architecture embarking on the journey toward carbon-neutral vehicles.
Here are some of the most promising concept car reveals of the year -
Grand Sphere
Dubbed as the “private jet for the road”, Audi’s Grand Sphere concept will bring forward a new era of futuristic sedans. For the most part, the concept design revolves around the interior - a stunning glass roof, huge doors, posh seats, a wraparound wooden dash made from recycled materials.
The Grand Sphere will also provide Level 4 Autonomy with self-driving capabilities. All you have to do is press the steering-wheel-mounted button, and the “lounge” mode is activated - your steering wheel and pedals will be contracted back to the dash! The Grand Sphere’s length will be somewhere around 5.35m, longer than the average Audi A8.
Hyundai Grandeur
In celebration of the 35th anniversary of the first-generation Grandeur, Hyundai launched its new electric retro-style concept, based on the classic vehicle. The design was kept fairly close to the original Grandeur but with a battery-electric powertrain. For the new concept, designers ditched the traditional lighting, replacing them with a grid of LED head and tail lights.
The interior too will receive ambient LEDs on the inside of the front and rear doors. The cabin will also receive velvet mixed leather seats, an 18-speaker sound system, a large digital display, and a center stack with stereo and climate controls. All in all, the concept Grandeur is going to be the epitome of luxury.
Kia EV9
Keeping up with their promise of going fully carbon neutral by 2045, Kia recently revealed another EV, the Kia EV9. The new concept was revealed through a brief teaser on 11th November and from the looks of it, will be a huge all-electric SUV.
