Malaysia-spec Toyota bZ4X sighted, here’s what is on offer

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota last year revealed its plan to introduce the all-new bZ4X in the local market in 2023. Back then the automaker didn’t confirm Ev's exact arrival date, however, recent events confirm a soon-to-take-place formal introduction.

Two units of the upcoming Toyota bZ4X were recently sighted at the UMWT’s headquarters in Shah Alam, thus confirming the all-electric crossover’s soon introduction.

Before Toyota Malaysia reveals the all-new bZ4X, here’s a small glimpse of what it’ll offer -

• The EV will pack a 71.4 lithium-ion battery available in two motor configurations - single and dual
• The Toyota b4ZX showcased at the headquarters has a single-motor setup and generates 204 PS and 266 Nm of torque along with a range of up to 500 km

• As for charging, the EV supports AC charging at up to 6.6 kW and DC fast charging at up to 150 kW (0 to 80% charge in just 30 minutes)
• The upcoming EVs spec sheet will most likely include LED lighting all-around, 20-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, a 7-inch digital instrument panel, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless charger, a powered driver’s seat, synthetic leather upholstery, a powered tailgate, and Toyota Safety Sense active systems

• Though UMW Toyota hasn’t released the price list for the upcoming bZ4X, however, we expect the EV to benefit from the ongoing import and excise duties exemption
